On the sixth stop of my virtual video book tour, I shared Secret #15: Choose your domain wisely.

“Domain names are to websites as titles are to novels”

Your domain name should do as many of the following as possible for your business:

  • Clearly identify what your business does
  • Entice people to visit the website
  • Help with search engine optimization
  • Be easy to understand and remember
  • Support your brand

If your domain does not meet all these criteria, ask yourself why? Was it intentional and strategic? Then it is probably OK. If not, you might need to either rethink your domain or your marketing strategies.
