Day 24: Fun in the sun

Saturday morning (still in a good mood, I might add), after seeing my boyfriend off for his trip to Catalina Island, I prepped for a day at the park. I was helping with the Division E first annual picnic. I’m an Area Governor in my Toastmasters District and my friend and fellow Area Governor came up with the idea to help promote unity throughout the division and to give people an opportunity to practice speaking in an outside venue.

The picnic had a pretty good turn out and we all had a great time. In this post’s picture, I’m posing with one of my Area banners.

Having the opportunity to share good food, interesting conversation and some nice fun in the sun was a great way to celebrate me yesterday. I also found out that another Area Governor, who happens to share my birthday, will be going to Catalina on Monday, as well. We’ll probably bump into each other! How fun is that?

In addition, I had fun being the event photographer (that’s why the picture above is the only picture of me from the event!). If you’d like to see the full gallery, you can visit my club’s website here.

Another celebration I indulged in, since I had the house to myself, was playing some of my favorite dance music and dancing around the living room. What’s on my dance music list? Sean Kingston (Fire Burning on the Dance Floor), Tarkan (Adimi Kalbine Yaz and others), Katy Perry (Last Friday Night), Quincy Jones (Soul Bossa Nova) and a bit of La Bouche, Franz Ferdinand, Falco and Lady Gaga.

How did you celebrate you yesterday? Did you take advantage of a nice summer day and go to the park, beach or wherever you like to go? Did you spend time with friends and/or family? Doing things you enjoy doing is an excellent way to celebrate you. Please share your celebrations, insights and wisdom in a comment below.
