For some reason unknown to me — perhaps the benefits of this exercise? — I woke up yesterday in a terrific mood and was able to bring that mood with me throughout the day.
That was celebration in and of itself. But there’s more …
I got to do some things I’ve never done before. Yes, they are kind of silly … but they were new and fun, anyway.
First, I went to Kinko’s and printed a color print of a picture of my boyfriend spearfishing. Its the same picture we used on his website, SpearoDiver.com. It was so cool. I put my thumb drive and credit card in a couple of slots, pushed a few buttons and voila! A beautiful image came out of the copy machine. How cool is that?
Then I went to Albertson’s and ordered a photo cake using that image. The cake is also going to say, “Happy Birthday Sweetie!” on it. It is a chocolate cake with custard filling and whipped cream frosting. The writing will be in a pale yellow that matches some of the colors in my sweetie’s rash guard. Here’s the picture:
I can’t wait to see the expression on his face when he comes home from his free trip to Catalina Island and finds his image on a cake! I even got number candles to represent his age.
I love surprising people with pleasant surprises. I love giving gifts, too. Its one of the many ways that I show I care. In fact, I love gift giving and gift wrapping (or presenting) so much, I once considered starting a business as a gift consultant. I even bought the domain cspgiftconsulting.com! I let that idea go … I’m not as passionate about that idea as I am about the three I’m still holding on to. 🙂
A free gift for me also arrived yesterday. About a month ago, I won a T-shirt from Splash That, the website I used to promote my book launch. It arrived yesterday. It’s green and feminine. Very cute.
All in all, it was a very good day. And at midnight … I gave my boyfriend a big Happy Birthday kiss. He left early this morning for Catalina, so I have until tomorrow evening to decorate the place with Happy Birthday trimmings. Then Monday, I go on my Catalina Birthday trip.
Woo hoo! I’m having a good time!
