Experience the joy of movement.
When I was in high school, I hated going to Physical Education. And the moment I didn’t have to take PE, I didn’t. Contrast that with how I like to live my life now: I walk rather than take the bus or get in a car. I strive to workout each day that I am able to. I’ll take the stairs rather than the elevator. Exercise has become an integral part of my life.
Today’s Journal Exercise:
Do something active today for at least 10-15 minutes. You can put on some music and dance. You can take a walk around your neighborhood. You can put in a workout DVD and do some aerobic exercise. It doesn’t matter what it is, just do something — anything — that brings your heart rate up and moves your muscles.
Now journal about how that mini-workout made you feel. Do you notice an increase in euphoric feelings? Are you happier? Why or why not? Did you push yourself too little or too much? Why did you do that? Explore your relationship with your body and with exercise in your journal.
Remember, your body is where you spend all your time. It is your primary means of support in doing anything. Without your health, you don’t have much else.
Daily Challenge:Do you have a favorite exercise? Share that in the Facebook group and/or in a comment below. Did you shirk today’s exercise? Fess up in the group, too. We are holding each other accountable, so we can all celebrate for 31 days!
