Actually, yesterday was pretty much a mundane and productive day: I went to the doctor, picked up my meds at the pharmacy, I got some work done and then I went to Toastmasters. As I was going to the meeting, I kept searching the day for something to celebrate, and was coming up boring.
And then, at the end of the meeting, one of the guests stood up and said one of the things he liked about the meeting was the opportunity to meet me in person. He subscribed to my podcasts on Spreaker and really liked what I had to say and how I said it.
That took me by surprise. First because to have someone say they wanted to meet me in person like I’m a celebrity was kinds of strange, new and different. And second because I had no idea people were actually listening to my audio posts. I was even thinking of dropping them altogether.
What this experience taught me is that sometimes we are successful without even knowing it. We are touching lives by what we do, sometimes with no feedback at all. I am grateful to know that I am making a difference, that people do like my work and get a benefit from experiencing it.
