Tonight is positive image — movies, TV, etc. — night!
In many homes, Friday night is movie night. Sometimes the family gathers together to watch their favorite TV shows, or they rent a movie, pop some popcorn and watch that. For others it is date night, which often includes a movie.
The thing is, a lot of TV and movie images are negative — including my coveted Sci Fi! And though, I’m happy to have you watch whatever brings you joy, I’m going to ask you to be very careful about what images you watch tonight — just one night. 🙂
Today’s Journal Exercise:
If you normally watch TV or a movie tonight, be very selective. Choose only imagery and story lines that are uplifting and inspirational.
In the movie theaters right now here are some good choices:
- I understand Inside Out is pretty sweet, although I haven’t seen it yet.
- Max is definitely a good choice. Again, I haven’t seen it yet, but I know several people who have.
- If you can find Tomorrowland — a very good choice!
If you want to rent a flick, here are some of my suggestions:
- Amélie – A fantastic French film that just makes you feel good to be alive
- The Pursuit of Happyness – A story of tenacity and going for what you want.
- Billy Elliot – A story about a boy who pursues his dream of dancing. Never give up on your dreams!
- Up – Touching, uplifting and fun
- The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – Great message!
- The Muppet Movie — The original is the best!
- The Sound of Music – Great music, lovely story
- E.T. The Extraterrestrial – A classic
Journal about how the movie or show you watched made you feel.
