“…there is one thing I have learned and that is not to dress uncomfortably, in styles which hurt…”
~ George Harrison
When I was in the fifth grade I had a favorite outfit that felt so good … but looked absolutely ghastly. My parents forbid me to wear it. It consisted of:
- Black knee-high boots that clicked when I walked,
- Straight legged jeans,
- A purple velour blazer, and
- A red, wide-brimmed, rain hat.
I loved the way the shapes and sounds of that outfit worked together. OK, the color combination was quite unfortunate, but if the colors had be coordinated, the outfit would have totally rocked.
Today’s Journal Exercise:
Today take a break and put on your favorite outfit. You don’t have to go anywhere or be seen by anyone — just put it on. Relish how you feel when you wear it. You can even put on make-up if that will make you feel good, too. Dress up so that when you look in the mirror you can say to yourself, “You look fantastic!”
Now take out your journal and write about how you feel when you wear that outfit. Do you feel beautiful? powerful? fancy free? posh? elegant? Why does that particular outfit make you feel that way? Are there ways you can bring that feeling into the outfits you wear every day?
Daily Challenge:Tell us about your favorite outfit in the Facebook group and/or a comment below. What about that outfit makes you feel so good? If you’re feeling really bold, take a selfie of yourself wearing that outfit and share it in the group along with your post. And be sure to include the hashtag #CelebrateYou.
