Celebrate You! 2015 Day 24 Report

by | Aug 25, 2015 | 2015 Celebrate You!, Behind the Scenes, Celebrate You!

having fun being me

My boyfriend and I hanging out with an alien from Alien Fresh Jerky in Baker, Calif.

Yesterday, because I’d gone to bed so late, I slept in. And yet, my day was still productive. And I capped it off with a nice, relaxing evening with my boyfriend. We were the only two to show up for our Toastmasters meeting, so we walked along the downtown area and stopped in at Legends Sports Bar for a bottle of hard cider and a side of potato skins. (Their avocado cream that comes with the skins is amazing!)

And so it seems that there isn’t anything specific to celebrate except this: Yesterday helped me identify this year’s Celebrate You! theme for me. You see, each year always ends up with an overarching theme that is pertinent to what I need that particular year. The first year was greater peace and happiness, as well as increased income. Last year’s theme was self-acceptance and a greater sense of my purpose.

This year, I believe, is about respite, relaxation and recovery. The past year has been very stressful. I was recovering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) from being attacked by my (now) ex-boyfriend. I experienced some financial distress. And, basically, all this stress negatively affected my health — I have had four flus this year alone! I normally only get the flu every other year.

Anyway, my situation has changed and now I can relax. And this month’s Celebrate You! challenge has brought me lots of lovely, peaceful, relaxing days to just receive and enjoy.

I can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring! (Hint: Tomorrow’s my birthday.)
