"Your journey has molded you for the greater good, and it was exactly what it needed to be. Don't think that you've lost time. There is no short-cutting to life. It took each and every situation you have encountered to bring you to the now. And now is right on time.” ~ Asha Tyson

You are exactly where you need to be in order to be the person you are yet to become.

“Your journey has molded you for the greater good,
and it was exactly what it needed to be.
Don’t think that you’ve lost time.
There is no short-cutting to life.
It took each and every situation you have encountered
to bring you to the now. And now is right on time.”

What this quote means to women entrepreneurs:
Have you ever looked at where you are along your path and thought, “I should be further along than this.”

I have. Many times. And, frankly, this idea of being exactly where I need to be has been coming up a lot for me over the past few weeks.

You see, I’m now dating a really nice man. I mean really nice. I’m talking the kind of guy who holds doors open for me, sends me flowers and actually lets me be fully me without getting mad or trying to change me. I know this may sound like no big deal for some of you reading this, but it is completely outside my experience. I’ve been in one less-than-perfect relationship after the other. In fact, I now feel the same closeness with this man that I’ve only felt with my women friends.

It is new. It is novel. And it is about damn time!

I’m also looking at changing my business model all together, basically amounting to taking a vacation from my business by taking on a full-time project. I’m doing this strategically so I can come back to my business later with a fresh set of eyes and experiences, as well as some breathe in my lungs and relaxation in my flesh.

And, the piece de la resistance? I’ve been having such a good time with my man taking me out to eat, I’ve put on nine pounds — totally eradicating all the weight reduction efforts I’ve made this year.

It is frustrating to have things seem so right in one area of my life while so chaotic in others. And then I found today’s quote in my email box and sat back, realizing that everything happens for reason. I’m where I am because this is where I need to be in order to be the person I am yet to come.

Our life journeys aren’t always fun. They don’t always go according to our expectations or plans. But in hindsight, they are almost always just right. If I hadn’t married my ex-husband, I would be a different person today. If I hadn’t dated my ex-boyfriend I wouldn’t have done the work I needed to do to be ready for the wonderful man I’m with now. Everything was perfect, even though it didn’t seem like it at the time.

There is no way to short cut your way through life, and when it seems like you’ve found that short cut, it usually turns out to be either the wrong direction or taking you on an even longer journey. That said … it probably still is perfect.

Therefore, the next time you find yourself saying, “I should be further along than this,” stop and take a breath. Be in the moment and realize that you are exactly where you need to be right now.

Hi Carma, CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so thrilled for you!

Having come out of Domestic Violence I can guess at some of your less than perfect past relationships and now there’s somebody who actually cares, how wonderful is that?

Enjoy every minute of your new life as you truly deserve it and I for one am just so happy for you.

    Bye for now~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Maureen
