There are five mistakes I commonly see authors, speakers and coaches making with their website’s design. In a presentation I gave to Toastmasters District 1 Speakers Bureau in September of last year, I discussed what they were and how to avoid them.

The second mistake is lack of professionalism:

Choosing the right domain … without hidden or unfortunate meanings … is the first step to a professional website. Then comes choosing the right font and making it readable for your audience. You also want to be strategic with the navigation, so that it leads visitors in the directions you want and is easy for them to use.
