Yesterday, Day 8 of the 31-Day Celebrate You! Challenge, I celebrated receiving.

But before I get into that, I want to share the recording of today’s Celebrate You! call. Because I promoted it so late, only one person showed up. But that’s OK. OK, now back to my celebration. Yesterday I celebrated receiving. Receiving help. Receiving advice. Receiving attention. It was a good day.

A lot of people block receiving — I know, because I’ve done that myself. I believe that this is in part because we’ve bought into the old adage, “It is better to give than to receive.” But think of it: Can you give something if there is no one to receive?

Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin. You can’t have one without the other. Both are worthy and so, I practice receiving with grace. The better I become at receiving — anything — I’ve found, the more I open up the channels to receive anything.
