Are there more tasks to do in your business than there is time to complete them? Then you need to hire a virtual assistant. But before you take the plunge, you need to be clear on a few things first or you just may hire the wrong help. Here are some questions to ask yourself to make sure that you are ready to find the right VA for you and your business.

  • What kind of work do you need help with?
  • What skills are necessary to perform this work?
  • Do you have documentation to explain what needs to be done?

Once you have all these things in place there are a few more questions you’ll need to ask yourself to be sure you are ready for the up-front work that goes into hiring anyone new to your team.

Do you have time to work through the getting to know you learning curve?
Remember, no matter how skill a virtual assistant may be, there will be an adjustment period where the VA gets to know your particular style.

Do you have something productive to do with the time that you will be saving?
There’s no point in spending money to free up that time if it won’t help you grow your business. You need to be freeing up that time to do more high-level, leveraged work, not just goofing off.
