When you hear the term “online presence” what does it mean. Here’s a “formal” definition:
on•line pres•ence än-līn pre-zən(t)s noun (also web presence): 1. the state or fact of being present on the Internet 2. the visibility or influence of a person or business as reflected by mentions of that person or business throughout the Internet
And here’s what I had to say about it in a recent presentation of “The 5 Deadly Mistakes of Home Page Design”:
As I said, every mention of you or your business adds to your web presence. And, eventually all those mentions lead to your home page. So make sure that your home page … and your whole website … are up to stuff. Review your website every couple of years (or more often) for updates.
