Right View & Thought: Marketing Zen for 2010

by | Dec 4, 2009 | Marketing & Selling, Mindset

In Zen Buddhism, there is a noble path that helps followers achieve peace in their current life:

  • Right View
  • Right Thought
  • Right Speech
  • Right Action
  • Right Livelihood
  • Right Effort
  • Right Mindfulness
  • Right Contemplation

Using these steps in the path for inspiration, I’ve created a series of quick posts that apply them to marketing … marketing zen for 2010.

What is the right view when it comes to marketing? How do you achieve right thought so that your business will flourish?

The right view is that of your ideal customers. If your ideal customer cannot relate to your products and services, then your business will wither and perish. In all things that you do in and for your business, you must keep your ideal customer firmly in mind.

  • What does your ideal customer want?
  • What does your ideal customer need?
  • How does your ideal customer wish to receive products and services?
  • Where does your ideal customer hang out?

When your view mirrors the view from your ideal customer, when your thought is that of how best to serve your ideal customer, then you know you are on the noble path of marketing zen.
