I’m always on the lookout for products that will help me do more cool things with my marketing. Sometimes I find things that have a learning curve (like AI-based transcription software) and sometimes I find things that are not only straightforward but spark my creative juices as I begin to play with them. Case in point, my new Tripod Stand for Phone or Tablet that just arrived this week.
Overview of the Tripod Stand for Phone or Tablet
This is a multi-function tripod mount that you can use with any phone that is between 4.7 and 7 inches on the diagonal, or any tablet that is 7 to 13 inches on the diagonal. The height is adjustable from 22 inches up to 62 inches.
It has a quick flip lock that combines a 90° neck rotation with a 360° rotation, giving you a lot of options for how you position your phone or tablet. The mount has silica gel to protect your phone or tablet from damage.
The overall design allows for collapsing and the box comes with a carrying case for easy portability. It also comes with a Bluetooth remote shutter so you can take a picture or start a video remotely.
What I like about this Tripod Stand for Phone or Tablet
This product is versatile, lightweight and easily transportable. The design seems fairly sturdy and it is easy to use. I initially got it because I thought it would make it easier to use my phone as a second video camera. But now that I have it in hand, I’ve thought of numerous other ways I can use it, such as for live video in a variety of locations (perfect for my upcoming book launch!)
What I don’t like about this Tripod Stand for Phone or Tablet
I found it challenging to put into the carrying case once it is assembled. I just couldn’t get it short enough to close the case and ended up having to slight disassemble it.
I haven’t figured out how to use the Bluetooth clicker yet, but I’m sure that’s just me and my brand new phone not quite knowing each other yet, rather than anything wrong with the clicker.
I think this product is a good value for the money. It is currently listed on Amazon for under $30 and there is so much you can do with it. Here are three of my ideas off the top of my head.
- Record Facebook Live broadcasts from anywhere — your office, your patio, the park, outside a historic location, etc.
- Use your phone or tablet as a second camera so you can cut between directed and direct camera angles.
- Use your phone or tablet as a notebook or teleprompter at speaking gigs
