“If you can’t believe … if you can’t accept anything on faith, then you’re doomed for a life dominated by doubt.”
– Richard Attenborough as Kris Kringle in the 1994 version of Miracle on 34th Street
What this quote means to entrepreneurial authors:
Not that long ago, I stated that “Seasoned entrepreneurs have developed the ability to believe in themselves.” That belief is often one part experience … having experienced success in the past, they believe they can experience success again … and one part faith.
You have to have faith in yourself, in your vision and in your work. If you can have faith in these things, there is no point in pursuing them.
Faith is a strong attractor. When you have faith, when you truly believe in what you can accomplish, you are magnetic to the people and opportunities that will help you achieve your vision.
And, as Kris said, without that belief, you are doomed to a world of doubt. Without that belief, you will doubt yourself, and therefore not step up into your potential. Without that belief, you will doubt your actions, and therefore pull your punches and get mediocre to bad results. Without that believe, you will doubt the transformation you offer and will sabotage your efforts to get clients.
Do what you can to cultivate an unwavering belief in yourself. As an entrepreneurial author, you will need that belief to help you grow your business and help more people.
