The second step in getting beyond your glass wall, that invisible shield that keeps you apart from your potential, is to cultivate an attitude of gratitude.

In this third part of the presentation I did for Toastmasters District 1 Speakers Bureau in September 2013, I talk about this step and how to make it a part of your daily life.

Every day brings you new and recurring things to be grateful for, from the air you breathe to the love and support of your family and friends. I recommend keeping a gratitude journal and writing down, each morning, at least five things you are grateful for.

In the video, I also suggest that you say thank you for every wondrous moment you experience throughout the day … from a sparrow singing outside your window to the sandwich you enjoyed for lunch.

Practice gratitude every opportunity that you can and make it a way of life.
