Clear up your money clutter, Part 3

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to speak about the energy of money at The Success Network, a local referral and networking group in Long Beach, California. This is the final of three videos taken from that event.

Money clutter can show up in many ways. One of them discussed in the video is collecting gift cards and not spending them. Unless you’re keeping them for strategic reasons … such as hanging onto a Starbucks card so you can use it at the airport … go ahead and treat yourself by spending them.

This does two things:

  1. It clears up the money clutter.
  2. It allows you to fully receive the gift that was given you.

The second reason is important because when you won’t allow yourself to receive in one area, chances are you are blocking receiving in other areas as well!

Another way to give money the attention it craves is to save consistently — preferably daily — and strategically. By this I mean, put money aside every day. Whether you put aside a penny or a dollar or something in between, doesn’t matter. What matters is the habit of putting money aside. So make the commitment and stick to it.

What do you put that money aside for? Suggestions include your retirement fund, fun money and giving to charity.
