Are you an actor? dancer? comedian? Regardless of how you entertain an audience, blogging can help you attract the gigs you crave and develop the fan base that proves you are worth the investment. Here are some ways that you can use your blog to support your career and business goals.
Share Your Journey
Write about the ups and downs of your career. Of course, you’ll need to temper that with some strategic thinking. There will undoubtedly be times when you can’t talk about an upcoming gig, whether because you don’t know or the lawyers have made you sign a document to that effect. So don’t put your career in jeopardy by sharing things you are not at liberty to share.
Share Your Personality
Yes, people should be your fan because of the great work that you do … but that’s not always how it works. People become your fans not only because they like the way you entertain them, but because they like who they think you are. So write about your passions that are not necessarily linked to your acting, dancing or comedy career. Maybe you follow politics. Maybe you are an avid golfer. Maybe you love to drink fine wine. Share your hobbies so that your fans see a fully fleshed out individual and not just a “celebrity.”
Keep Your Fans Up to Date
Blog about events you’ll be participating in. Share photos from events you’ve already attended. Do you meet your fans at conventions? Take pictures or video and post that, too.
Keep Your Readers Informed
Are you learning something new in preparation for your next project? Blog about what you’ve learned. If what you are learning can be photographed, definitely hare the pics!
Do you struggle to move forward in your business because of niggling little questions that you just can’t find the answers for? Do you wish you could hire a coach to help you through specific challenges without the commitment to a long-term program? Do you need help developing a strategic plan you can actually implement? I offer a la carte sessions, as well as flexible and structured coaching packages.
