eight-facets-of-lifeIn the last issue of my ezine, I touched on owning your awesome in all eight facets of your life and how each can affect your business. (Click on the image to see it at full size.) In this post, I’d like to go a little deeper.

The eight facets of life are:

  • Finances & Prosperity — Your relationship to money
  • Business — Your relationship to your business
  • Health — Your relationship to your body
  • Physical Environment — Your relationship to the spaces around you
  • Social Life & Romance — Your relationship to others
  • Fun & Recreation — Your relationship with play time
  • Learning — Your relationship with your mind
  • Spiritual Growth — Your relationship with the divine

Finances & Prosperity

Money is energy and how it shows up (or not) in your life is often an indicator of how you are treating all the facets of your life. When you experience money blocks, your business, your relationships, and your health are often adversely affected.

The challenge is that many cultures teach us to have less than ideal relationships with money, often treating money like it is somehow wrong or evil. Money is just money. It is a way of exchanging energy and nothing more.

Cultivate a healthy relationship with money, one free of greed and guilt, and you will more than likely clear up blocks in other areas of your life … especially business.

Business

Business is more than just providing a product or service. It encompasses sales, marketing, customer service, accounting, and much more. A healthy relationship with your business means that you embrace the reality of all the things that go into a successful business. You focus on what you do best, and you hire out the rest.

Health

When you own you awesome in the health facet of your life, you treat your body well and you love it — no matter what it looks like. Loving your body as it is doesn’t necessarily mean you want your body to stay in its current condition. It means you don’t dis it just because it doesn’t look the way you want it to yet.

Physical Environment

Cluttered space often reflects a cluttered mind. You want the spaces you spend the most time in to be pleasing to your eyes. Surround yourself with beauty and you will attract beautiful things in all areas of your life.

Social Life & Romance

Cultivating a healthy and vibrant social life, as well as a passionate and sexy love life, has wide-ranging effects on the other areas of your life. When your social and love lives are happy and healthy, you feel loved. When you feel loved, you radiate confidence and goodwill. People are attracted to your upbeat energy. This is very good for business!

Fun & Recreation

All work and no play makes Jack way more than a dull boy! It makes him grumpy, unhappy and unfulfilled. Take time off to have fun and don’t feel guilty about it (as long as it is balanced).

Learning

One of the habits of highly successful people is that they continually, as Stephen Covey puts it, “sharpen the saw.” If you aren’t growing, you are wilting. Always look for ways to learn new things and keep your mind sharp.

Spiritual Growth

Research suggests that humans are wired to experience the divine, it is a part of how our brain functions. Therefore, your relationship with the divine is an important aspect of your life. Cultivate your spiritual side to maintain a balanced and healthy life. Only then can your business truly thrive.
