I’ve never been big on April Fool’s jokes … so you won’t find one here. But I thought you might like to know why we even have this day. Apparently, there was a time that April 1 was New Year’s Day. But then we switched to January 1. As with most change in the world, there were some dissenters who insisted on celebrating New Year’s Day on April 1. They were the first April Fools.
But this story leads me to something you might want to ask yourself. Are you being an “April Fool” in your business? Are you holding on to antiquated ideas … about marketing, about your target market, about yourself … that are holding you back from taking your business to the next level? Or worse, holding you back from coming into your true power as an entrepreneur and individual?
Recently, I’ve experienced an awakening. For too many years, I’ve held onto ideas about myself and how I can make a living that have limited me and eventually led to me suppressing who I am and limiting my personal power. But recently something has changed and I’ve woken up.
I’m feeling more passionate about my life than I have in more than 10 years. And this passion is going to start showing itself in my business. Just you watch … great and wonderful things are brewing and bubbling forth and I hope that my experience will help you wake up, shake off the shackles of fear and release outdated ideas about what you are capable of.
I’m not ready to share the details of my reawakening just yet (other than I’ve found an unwitting muse who has helped open my ears to what people who believe in me have to say), but have faith that I will share them when the time is right … most likely before the year is up.
But in the mean time, take a look at your business and your life. Are you sleep walking, too?
